Nurse gets probation for stealing drugs

STILLWATER, Minn. (AP) -- A nurse from western Wisconsin has been sentenced to three years of probation for stealing painkillers from a Stillwater hospital.

Forty-five-year-old Della Rae Thalin of New Richmond was sentenced in federal court on a charge of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. Thalin admitted taking hydromorphone from drug storage cabinets at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater where she worked.

The Pioneer Press says Thalin could have received a maximum four years in prison.
