2 plead guilty in Mpls. teen's shooting death

Two teenagers have pleaded guilty in the shooting death of another teen near a Minneapolis school where children were present.

The Hennepin County Attorney's office says Ishmael Rashad Moore and DaShaunta Gomez, both 18 and from Minneapolis, pleaded guilty Monday as their trial was about to begin.

Moore pleaded guilty to second-degree murder while Gomez pleaded guilty to first-degree riot.

Prosecutors say Moore shot 18-year-old Keontrell Govan last May in a church parking lot across from a school. Govan started to run but was shot in the head. Moore fired more shots as he and Gomez ran away.

Moore is scheduled to be sentenced March 29. Gomez will be sentenced April 17.

Both men were 17 at the time of the shooting but were certified to stand trial as adults.
