Money stolen from Minnesota mosque

A safe containing thousands of dollars in donations has been stolen from a downtown Rochester mosque.

The Post-Bulletin reports the safe was stolen either late Monday or early Tuesday. It contained up to $6,000 in donations for the mosque's operations.

It's the second time a safe has been stolen from the mosque in less than a week.

Treasurer Mohammed Mustapha says the other safe was taken about three days earlier and contained about $1,000 in donations for charity.

Both safes measure about 2 feet by 3 feet.

Mustapha says mosque leaders have no idea who might have taken the money.
