Charges: Hotel clerk recorded newlyweds

A St. Paul hotel desk clerk is facing charges after he was accused of making an audio recording of a couple on their wedding night.

A complaint filed Friday in Ramsey County District Court charges 28-year-old Jermiah Marg, of Burnsville, with interfering with privacy.

The couple called police after they found a recorder under the door of their room at the 340 Hotel in downtown St. Paul last December. The couple discovered the device had recorded them having sex as well as other people making love. The complaint says investigators also checked Marg's laptop and found a video recording of an unknown couple having sex at the hotel.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Marg has a 2002 Wisconsin conviction for showing sexual material to two juvenile girls. A phone number for Marg is not listed.
