Baby found in Mississippi River is laid to rest

A baby girl whose body was found in the Mississippi River last summer has been laid to rest.

A Post-Bulletin of Rochester report says about 200 people filled a Winona church on Saturday to memorialize the girl. Authorities have called her ``Baby Angel'' because her body was wrapped in bags that also contained an angel figurine.

She was found on Labor Day by 14-year-old Josh Forst. He alerted his mother Sharon, who performed CPR while her husband dialed 911. But the baby was already dead.

Sharon Forst said during the service that some people dream of angels, and she held one in her arms.

Investigators are still looking for the girl's parents. An autopsy didn't reveal how the baby died, but it did yield a DNA sample.
