Plea deal for deputy accused of abuse

A Stearns County sheriff's deputy has reached a plea deal on charges that he sexually abused three teenagers.

The St. Cloud Times reports Sgt. Phil Meemken reached the deal Monday as jury selection was scheduled to begin for his trial in Anoka County.

Paul Young, head of the violent crime division of the Anoka County Attorney's Office, tells the newspaper Meemken will plead guilty to one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of providing alcohol to a minor.

Meemken was facing 25 counts, Including 22 counts of criminal sexual conduct. He was accused of providing alcohol to three teenagers and performing sex acts on them.

Meemken has been on administrative leave since December 2009 when the allegations were reported.
