Rain postpones Mpls. MayDay Parade
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The annual MayDay Parade in south Minneapolis has been postponed a week because of rain.
The parade is put on by In The Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre. It originally was scheduled for Sunday, May 6, but has been rescheduled for Sunday, May 13.
About 2,000 participants and thousands of spectators turn out to Powderhorn Park for the event each year.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports next Sunday's parade will kick off at 1 p.m. as scheduled.
