Girl pulled from Cedar Lake dies

A teenage girl has died after being pulled from Cedar Lake in Minneapolis.

The Hennepin County sheriff's office said Monday it has learned the 16-year-old girl has died.

The girl, from Minneapolis, was swimming with friends Sunday when she disappeared underwater. Rescue divers found her in about 12 feet of water near a floating dock about 100 feet from shore. She was taken to HCMC in critical condition.

The Hennepin County medical examiner's office will release the victim's name.

Cedar Lake is part of the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes.
