The federal transportation bill remains stalled in conference committee. Congress must pass a bill by June 30 in order to ensure continued funding of current and future projects as well to continue collecting the federal gas tax that supports projects.

Typically, the transportation bill authorizes spending for five or six years. The Senate-passed bill authorizes funding for two years due to the Highway Trust Fund facing bankruptcy.
