Two men arrested in shooting near Gay 90s club

Charges have been filed against two men for a shooting that wounded three bystanders outside the Gay 90s club in Minneapolis.

On Monday, an argument outside the club escalated into gunfire, wounding the bystanders.

Deputy County Attorney David Brown said tips led to the arrests of Don Austin, 20, and Dontae McKinney, 19. The Hennepin County Attorney's office charged both of them Wednesday.

"We were just very, very pleased with the police work, and also with the help of the citizens," Brown said. "Police can't do it alone and the fact that citizens were willing to be involved, make calls, give good descriptions, all really helped the police solve this crime."

McKinney is also charged with assault on a police officer. The suspects are expected to appear in court Thursday.

"The Minneapolis Police Department has really made making downtown Minneapolis safe a focus, and it worked here," Brown said. "They were right on top of the scene, they got at these suspects quickly, and they neutralized the threat to any other citizens."
