St. Paul police investigate fatal shooting on north side

The police in St. Paul said Saturday morning that they do not have any suspects in custody after a man was fatally shot on the city's north side.

Police spokesman Howie Padilla says officers were called to the 400 block of east Arlington Avenue just after midnight. They found one man dead and another injured.

The injured man was treated at Regions Hospital and released.

Preliminary reports indicate the shooting happened inside a home. Padilla says the police haven't recovered any weapons.

"We are looking obviously to try to piece together what might have happened before the shooting obviously and what led up to it," Padilla says. "We do have some preliminary suspect information -- it is limited, but we at have some leads to go off of."

Padilla says officials are still working with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office to confirm the victim's identity.
