Feds assessing NW Wis. flood damage

Officials with the U.S. Small Business Administration are touring Douglas County to view damage from a flood there in late June.

Gov. Scott Walker said Wednesday the information gathered could be used to request SBA provide federal low-interest loans to individuals and employers that suffered flood damage.

Disaster assessment teams from the Federal Emergency Management Agency are reviewing damages to roads, bridges and other public infrastructure as a result of the June floods.

FEMA officials are assessing flood damage in Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas counties and on land of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
