New site links MN farmers to drought info

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota Department of Agriculture has rolled out a new website providing information and resources to help farmers cope with the drought conditions that are deepening across southern and western Minnesota.

It offers information about crop and weather conditions, as well as state and federal programs that may provide farmers with options to lessen the impact of the drought on their finances, crops and livestock.

The site offers information about relevant Minnesota Department of Agriculture programs and services, as well as information and resources from other agencies including the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the USDA Farm Service Agency and the University of Minnesota Extension Service.
