2 teens killed on I-94 near Hudson

The Wisconsin State Patrol said two teenagers were killed and two others hurt in a rear-end crash on Interstate 94 near Hudson on Monday.

The patrol said that a SUV carrying four teenaged boys from New Richmond crashed into the back of a semi stopped for traffic ahead of a road project, about six miles east of the state line.

Joshua Goodrich, 17, was riding in the front seat and died of his injuries at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. A rear seat passenger, Jordan Johnson, 16, was also killed. The 17-year-old driver was critically injured and another passenger suffered lesser injuries. All the boys were wearing seat belts except for Johnson, who was one of the deceased.

The patrol said the semi was stopped in the left lane of I-94, stuck in heavy traffic, about 1:30 Monday afternoon when the Dodge Durango hit it from behind. The truck driver was not injured in the crash, which closed the eastbound side of the interstate for several hours yesterday.
