1 dead in Minneapolis shooting

Police are looking for a suspect in a fatal shooting on the north side of Minneapolis.

Police spokesman Sgt. Stephen McCarty says Fourth Precinct officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Dupont Avenue North early Friday morning after reports of shots being fired.

Before the officers arrived in the area, the Minneapolis Emergency Communications Center also took a 911 call reporting that a male was on the floor inside a home on the same block, McCarty said. When officers arrived they found an adult male dead.

The victim's identity and cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner Office later. Police have questioned people at the scene, but no arrests have been made.
