MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A Minneapolis teen has been indicted by a grand jury on a first-degree murder charge in the death of a 5-year-old boy.

Nizzel George was sleeping on his grandmother's couch June 26 when bullets tore through the front wall of the house, striking Nizzel in the back.

Seventeen-year-old Stephon Shannon has been held on $2 million bond since his arrest July 2. Shannon is expected to appear in Hennepin County District Court Friday on the new charge.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press says a 15-year-old boy is also being held in the case. Prosecutors have petitioned the court to have him tried as an adult.
