Man dies in Waseca Co. grain bin

JANESVILLE, Minn. (AP) -- A 19-year-old man has died in a Waseca County grain bin.

The Free Press of Mankato reports Jared Weckwerth was helping a farmer near Janesville remove grain from the bin Tuesday when he went inside and fell into the corn.

When others at the farm realized Weckwerth was missing, they called for help.

The sheriff's office says rescuers cut holes in the side of the bin to get the corn out quickly, but Weckwerth had died by the time his body was found.
