St. Cloud police arrest man in deadly beating

St. Cloud authorities say they've made an arrest in connection with the death of a Greenfield man last week.

Colton Gleason was reportedly walking down an alley in St. Cloud on Thursday when he was punched once by someone who got out of a passing car. Witnesses said he apparently fell and hit is head on the ground. Gleason died of his injuries in a St. Cloud hospital on Friday night.

Police offered a one thousand dollar reward in the case over the weekend, and said they took a 17-year-old St. Cloud boy into custody late Monday afternoon. Police said he was being held at the Prairie Lakes Juvenile Detention Center in Willmar pending charges.

Authorities haven't said what they believe led to the Gleason's death. They were looking for a light-colored sedan in connection with the case, and said two young women were with Gleason when the incident happened. Authorities said over the weekend that they weren't sure if Gleason and his assailant even knew each other.

Police aren't releasing any more information about the investigation, the arrest or whether the reward helped solve the case -- citing the suspect's status as a juvenile.
