Minnesota has the first DFL-controlled state government in 25 years

It's been a number of years, about 25, since Democrats controlled state government in Minnesota. Where not only the governor was a Democrat but both the state House and Senate were controlled by Democratic majorities.

This morning, state government is in the hands of Democrats. There was some thought among those who follow legislative races that the state Senate could flip into DFL control and that happened. What's a surprise is that so did the Minnesota House.

Joining MPR's Cathy Wurzer with a look at what happened and where, are two former state lawmakers. On the phone, Republican state Representative Marty Seifert from Marshall and with us in studio is former DFL state Senator Ellen Anderson who represented St. Paul.
