Sappi Fine Paper labor vote this week

CLOQUET, Minn. (AP) -- Hundreds of union members at Sappi Fine Paper vote on a new labor contract this week.

The tentative agreement comes several days after the union voted to authorize a strike at the Cloquet plant. Nearly 400 members of United Steelworkers Local 1163 are eligible to vote on the proposed contract Friday.

The union has been working under a contract extension since May. WDIO-TV says dozens of workers held informational picketing at the plant in October, saying the company was asking employees to pay more for health care.
