Copter catches fire on landing in Corcoran

CORCORAN, Minn. (AP) -- A pilot has escaped a helicopter fire with what authorities are calling "very minor" injuries.

Hennepin County Sheriff's Maj. Tracey Martin says the pilot had just landed a helicopter in Corcoran at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday when something mechanical went wrong and the helicopter caught fire.

No one else was on board. The pilot was examined by a paramedic at the scene. The pilot's name was not immediately released. Martin says he was landing the helicopter in his large backyard.
