Authorities ID 3 kids killed in S.D. fire

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) -- Authorities have released the names of three children killed in a fire that tore through a home in Sioux Falls.

Sioux Falls police Sgt. Loren McManus says 16-year-old Michael Hensely, 12-year-old Savannah Coon and 6-year-old Olivia Coon died in the Saturday morning blaze. They were found in a single room on the second story of the frame house on North Main Avenue near Tower Park.

Two adults managed to escape and were outside when firefighters arrived.

When crews arrived, flames were shooting from nearly every west-side window on both floors. Firefighters tried to enter the home but were forced back by the heat.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are working with the fire marshal to determine the cause of the blaze.
