1999-2003: The time period during which six male former Shattuck-St. Mary's students accuse Seibel of facilitating group masturbation sessions in the dorm. Four of the students recounted illegal touching by Seibel when they were alone with him.

2001: School administrators become aware of allegations of sexual misconduct involving Seibel. An internal investigation "did not corroborate those allegations," school officials said. The results were shared in "conversations" with police, school officials said, but police have no records of those conversations.

2003: School officials find pornography on Seibel's computer. Police say Seibel left his job after the school's new headmaster, Nick Stoneman, confronted him about the images. No pornography possession charges were filed against Seibel until 2012, when the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension examined the images and declared they were "without question illegal child pornography."

2011: A former Shattuck-St. Mary's student, and one of Seibel's alleged victims, is charged in Minnesota with asking a 16-year-old girl to send him sexually explicit photos of herself.

June 2012: The Minnesota defendant tells a probation officer about being abused by a teacher at Shattuck-St. Mary's. The Faribault Police Department later interviews the defendant and opens an investigation against Seibel. Five other former students give statements to police, saying they were victims.

August 2012: A Faribault police detective and a BCA special agent travel to California and interview Seibel as the Los Angeles Police Department executes a search warrant at Seibel's apartment. Seibel is arrested.

October 2012: Seibel is charged in Minnesota with 14 counts of criminal sexual conduct and three other counts related to his alleged actions while teaching at Shattuck-St. Mary's.

November 2012: The first former student to accuse Seibel is sentenced to probation after telling a judge he was abused as a teen.

February 2012 Los Angeles County prosecutors drop unrelated child pornography charges against Seibel, allowing him to be extradited to Minnesota. He is transferred to the Rice County jail and will appear in court on March 8.
