Eden Prairie man accused of burglarizing assisted-living facilities

The Dakota County Attorney's office filed burglary charges this week against an Eden Prairie man suspected of breaking into several assisted-living complexes.

According to the complaint, Andrew Douglas Page, stole sets of master keys from two Burnsville senior facilities last month and used them to gain access to offices and apartments. An 82-year-old woman reported $20,000 worth of jewelry stolen from her apartment. An office manager reported bags of cash were taken from locked file cabinets.

Police investigators say they identified Page from surveillance video and obtained a search warrant for his home. According to the warrant, police found lock-making and lock-picking tools, but not the jewelry.

Police also found about a dozen armor-piercing .50-caliber ammunition rounds in the basement of Page's home. The ordnance was taken by a police bomb squad.

According to the warrant, Page is suspected of committing two other similar burglaries. Dakota County officials say an investigation is ongoing.
