St. Paul cops cleared in suspect's death

A Ramsey County grand jury has found prosecutors have no probable cause to charge two St. Paul police officers in the shooting death of a drug suspect.

Last October, the two police officer killed Victor Gaddy, 41, after he allegedly used his car to ram unmarked squad cars.

The grand jury determined that the officers' use of deadly force was within the bounds of state law, according to a statement released by the Ramsey County Attorney's office.

Gaddy was reported to be a gang member. After the incident, police in Minneapolis and St. Paul were on heightened alert after hearing possible threats of retaliation.
