MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- An autistic teenager who went missing from White Bear Lake this week was found safe at a grocery store 20 miles away.

A St. Paul Pioneer Press report says police were not sure how Kyle Christopher Konkler ended up in Minneapolis.

The 18-year-old works at the White Bear Lake Police Department. He left work Thursday afternoon but did not return home. He did not have money or a cellphone and he was not dressed appropriately for the weather.

Konkler was found Friday evening in Minneapolis. White Bear Lake police Chief Lynne Bankes says it was unclear what he had been doing during the time he was missing, but he was safe and in good condition.
