Minn. manhunt ends in arrest of suspect

After a manhunt, authorities have arrested a suspect in the stabbing of a woman in the southern Minnesota city of Faribault.

Authorities say the 27-year-old stabbed his 26-year-old girlfriend several times before fleeing Saturday afternoon. The woman was unresponsive when police found her in a vehicle stalled near the police station. Officers also found two children inside. Neither child was hurt.

The victim later told police she was stabbed during a domestic argument.

Authorities believe the suspect stole a car during his escape and later set it on fire on a gravel road off Highway 14 on the Steele-Waseca county line.

A dispatcher for Rice and Steele counties says the suspect was arrested in the same general area about 1 p.m. Sunday and taken to a hospital as a precaution.
