Democrats in the Minnesota Senate are planning to roll out a tax bill this week that will show in detail how they plan to erase a projected $627 million budget deficit and pay for new spending.

The bill is likely to be similar to earlier tax proposals from DFL Governor Mark Dayton and House Democrats, but there may be a few key differences. Also, many of the remaining big budget bills are headed for floor votes this week, including the funding measures for public education.

Tim Pugmire discussed the week ahead with Morning Edition host Matt Sepic.
