Police: Girl, 13, escapes kidnap attempt

A 13-year-old girl was the victim of an attempted kidnapping not far from Lake Calhoun, according to the Minneapolis Police Department.

Minneapolis police issued a crime alert for three white men, all 30- to 45-years-old. Police say the girl was riding her bike near 36th street West and Zenith Avenue south when she was approached from the front by the three men. One of the men grabbed the girl's wrist and warned her not to make any noise. The girl screamed and the three men ran northbound from the area.

One of the men is described as having brown hair and a very muscular build. Another of the men is described with blond hair in a "buzz" cut. No clothing description is available.

Police say no other similar incidents have been reported.
