Semi-trailer crash on I-94 kills driver

Authorities in Wisconsin are investigating a fatal semi-trailer crash just east of the state line on Interstate 94.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says the semi was west bound on the interstate Wednesday night about 26 miles east of the St. Croix River.

They say the truck left the roadway on the right shoulder, crashed through the interstate fence on the side of the road and continued about 600 yards into a field.

Authorities say they found the driver of the truck dead, but it was unclear what killed him. The cause and the crash remain under investigation.
