Homicide suspect arrested in Duluth

Police have released the name of a man shot dead while sitting in his vehicle outside a manufacturing company in Superior, Wis.

Superior Police Deputy Chief Nicholas Alexander says 46-year-old Terrance Rodney Luukkonen of Duluth was killed Thursday night. He was found outside Genesis Attachments, where he worked, and pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police say the shooting was initially reported as self-inflicted. But evidence suggested Luukkonen had been shot by someone else.

Police in Duluth arrested a man at the Allyndale Motel on Thursday. The 41-year-old man has a recent address in Arizona, but it is believed he was staying at the motel. The alleged suspect is an acquaintance of Luukkonen's fiance, and police say he had threatened to kill Luukkonen in the past.
