Officials in Elk River say they found a body that matched the description of a missing 2-year-old girl on Sunday afternoon.

The child, Daisy Jo Holland, was last seen by her family in the Wapiti Park Campground about 8 p.m. Friday. More than 265 volunteers helped with land searches while dive teams with sonar scoured the Elk River and Orono Lake.

The search for Daisy ended Sunday, said Elk River Police Chief Brad Rolfe.

"The body of a child of similar description to Daisy Jo Holland was recovered by dive team members several hundred yards downstream from the campsite where Daisy was last seen," Rolfe said. "At this time there is no indication of foul play; however, the investigation will remain open."

The body was being sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office for identification and determination of the cause of death, Rolfe said. He expressed thanks to the volunteers on behalf of the police department and the Holland family.
