Man charged in homicide, assault in Mankato
A Minneapolis man is charged with an attack that left a woman dead and her husband with stab wounds in Mankato.
Twenty-four-year-old Levi Spencer Minissale is charged in Blue Earth County with one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder.
The Free Press reports bail for Minissale was set at $1 million Friday.
Police say 20-year-old Yesenia Gonzalez was killed and her 26-year-old husband stabbed at a home about 10 a.m. Thursday. The husband was treated at a hospital and released.
Court records say Minissale was in a relationship with Gonzalez. He's accused of entering her home with a hunting knife and stabbing her several times.
Minissale was arrested about an hour later at a gas station. His next court appearance is June 20.
