Dozens of fire crews fought a four-alarm fire at a Plymouth apartment complex Friday morning that has forced dozens of people from their homes.
Fire chief Richard Kline says his department was called about 4 a.m. to a fire in an air conditioner beside one of the 3-story buildings at the Vicksburg Village Apartments.
No one was hurt, but Kline said as many as 60 people have been forced from their homes, some of them indefinitely.
"We're going to begin our congregate care, in other words, getting them into their apartments, getting their essentials out, their car keys, their medicines, what they need at least for today, and then eventually rotating them to get back into their living units," he said.
Fire departments as far away as Eden Prairie and Bloomington were called in to help fight the fire that heavily damaged the 62-unit apartment building.
