Police seize $4 million worth of pot plants near Hinckley

Law enforcement officials from 11 different agencies seized more than 5,500 marijuana plants from a pot-growing operation near Hinckley, Minn., Wednesday morning.

Police wanted to destroy the plants before they could be processed and sold, said B. Todd Jones, U.S. attorney for Minnesota.

Officials with the Drug Enforcement Administration, which took part in the operation, said "dismantling criminal organizations, like the one responsible for this marijuana, is a priority for the DEA."

The plants had an estimated street value of more than $4 million, officials said.
