An early look at the Republican race for governor
The four declared Republican candidates for Minnesota governor met Thursday night at a candidates' forum in Mounds View. It was the first such event of the gubernatorial campaign season.
From a report filed by political reporter Tom Scheck:
All four candidates said they would work to end or limit the Met Council's authority, would not fund additional light rail projects and would work to repeal the MNsure — the state's health insurance exchange.
The four candidates who have announced themselves so far are Scott Honour, a businessman from Orono; Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson; state Sen. Dave Thompson of Lakeville, and Rep. Kurt Zellers of Maple Grove.
Scheck joins The Daily Circuit to discuss last night's event and the race thus far.
