Minneapolis police are searching for a suspect after three people including a toddler were shot Tuesday evening on the city's north side.
A 14-month-old toddler was shot in the shoulder, a woman in her 20s was shot in a leg and a 17-year-old boy also was shot in the leg.
Police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington said all three victims are expected to survive.
Barrington says the shooting was reported around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2900 block of Lyndale Avenue North, near Farview Park. Police say a large crowd had been standing outside when a suspect approached, fired shots and fled on foot.
The woman was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and the toddler transported to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. The 17-year-old was taken by private vehicle to North Memorial Medical Center.
Police are searching in the area for the suspect.
"We would suggest to everyone if they have any information, a little bit, anything, to please call 612-692-TIPS," Barrington said. "And also for the residents that live in this area, keep your eyes and ears open, they're the best resources that the police department has in bringing tips forward and in helping investigators bring closure and find out who did this shooting tonight."
