Minn. exports fall in 2nd quarter

Sales of Minnesota-made agricultural, mining and manufactured products fell in the second quarter of the year.

International sales of Minnesota goods fell to $5.2 billion in the second quarter of the year. That was a drop of 6 percent compared to the same period last year.

Exports to Canada and Asia accounted for a big chunk of the decline.

Although overall growth was down, Minnesota's Trade Office says sales of the state's top ten exported products rose over the year. They include aerospace products, medical goods, and beverages.

Compared to all states, Minnesota ranked 20th for export growth in the second quarter.
