State Fair University: The history and future of glass

The Minnesota State Fair is a great place for experts to show off what they know in front of a group of people they wouldn't normally spend time with. We've been seeking out those experts this week. We found some more just outside Heritage Square at what is dubbed the "hottest spot at the fair." It's a rumbling furnace that reaches 2,100 degrees farenheit used to demonstrate the ancient art of glass blowing. Once an hour, members of the FOCI Minnesota Center for Glass Arts show off their glass-making skills. As part of Morning Edition's State Fair University, our producer Jeff Jones asked FOCI's Bryan Ethier for a quick history of glass.
