Divers recover body of Grand Marais fishing guide

GRAND MARAIS, Minn. (AP) -- Divers have recovered the body of a longtime fishing guide for a lodge in northeastern Minnesota.

Authorities say the body of 59-year-old Dennis Todd was found Sunday in Northern Light Lake in Ontario. Todd was a guide for the Gunflint Lodge in Grand Marais for 25 years. He had been out fishing on the lake with a new employee on Thursday.

The Duluth News Tribune says the female employee told officials the two were on their way back to the lodge when their boat his something in the water and they were thrown into the water. The woman was wearing a life jacket and was able to swim to an island. Todd was not wearing a life jacket and did not resurface.
