ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Prosecutors in Ramsey County will try to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Jeffery Trevino killed his wife, whose body was found in the Mississippi River more than two months after she disappeared.

Trevino's trial begins Monday in the high profile case. Trevino is charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Kira Steger. Her family members say she was trying to leave Trevino when she was killed last February. Authorities say "copious amounts" of blood were found in the couple's St. Paul home.

Trevino's attorney, John Conrad, will attempt to raise reasonable doubt that someone else killed Steger.

Jury selection is expected to last two days.
