Grand jury approves charges in killing outside Burnsville bar
A Dakota County grand jury today indicted a 31-year-old Rosemount man in the shooting death of Palagor Jobi in Burnsville last month.
The jury approved charges of first-degree murder and second-degree intentional murder against Anthony Lee Nelson, who is also an uncharged suspect in the death of University of Minnesota student Anarae Schunk, 20. Nelson is also known as Shavelle Chavez-Nelson.
Jobi, 23, was shot and killed outside Nina's Grill in Burnsville early on the morning of Sept. 22.
Ashley Marie Conrade, 24, told investigators that she, Nelson and Schunk had gone to the bar together that night. Following the shooting, Conrade said they drove together to Conrade's home, according to the original criminal complaint. Conrade has been charged with aiding Nelson.

Schunk's body was discovered in Rice County on Sept. 30. Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said Thursday that her death is still under investigation but that he expects to receive information from the Rosemount Police Department within about a month.
Backstrom said his office decided to pursue first-degree murder charges against Nelson, which require a grand jury's indictment. The indictments supersede an earlier charge his office filed against Nelson in the shooting.
"Our deepest sympathies extended to the family and friends of Palagor Jobi who was shot and killed outside Nina's Bar," Backstrom said.
Nelson is being held at the Dakota County Jail. His first court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
