Man who died in St. Paul apartment fire ID'd

The St. Paul Fire Department has identified the man who died in an apartment fire on the city's North End on Tuesday as William Clepper.

Clepper died of burns after this clothing caught fire on the stove, according to a Twitter post by the St. Paul Fire Department. The department said Clepper died on his 57th birthday.

The fire on the 1600 Block of North Hamline Avenue was confined to the kitchen of Clepper's apartment. Firefighters quickly extinguished it.
