Minnesota trade officials to court partners in Brazil, South Korea
Minnesota trade officials are trying to establish new partnerships with Brazil and South Korea.
The state Department of Employment and Economic Development has issued a request for proposals in the two countries. It seeks contractors that can market Minnesota as a location for foreign investment and promote Minnesota products for export.
Brazil bidders must have an existing office in Sao Paolo, and South Korea bidders must be located in Seoul. The deadline for responses is Dec. 23.
During the 2013 legislative session, state lawmakers approved $1.5 million for three new Minnesota Trade Office locations. Gov. Mark Dayton announced during a trade trip last summer that one of the offices would be in the Dusseldorf-Cologne area of Germany.
