A sharp decline in fires could mean changes for the Minneapolis Fire Department and other fire departments around the country.
Of the 36,985 runs for Minneapolis in 2012, just 4 percent involved using a water line to fight a fire, according to a Star Tribune report. Fires in Minneapolis are down 50 percent in the last decade.
