2 injured in train derailment in NE Minn.
A train filled with iron ore pellets has derailed in northeastern Minnesota, injuring two people.
Lake County Sheriff Carey Johnson says the derailment happened just after 1 p.m. on a bend in the tracks in Two Harbors.
The Duluth News Tribune reports it's unclear how extensive the injuries are, but the two people were taken from the scene by ambulance.
Uwe Kausch, a sales manager at Northshore Manufacturing, says the rail cars were everywhere, "stacked up like cord wood," with some pointing up vertically.
LeRoy Veness, who owns a repair shop about 100 yards from the rail line, says he heard the derailment. Vennes says, "Our whole building was rumbling." A typical ore train has just over 100 cars.
