Mpls. shooting leaves 1 man dead

Minneapolis police say a late-night altercation led to a shooting that left a man dead in the street.

Police responded to a 911 call Friday about 11 p.m. and found the victim lying in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the man had been walking in the area when he encountered the suspect. An altercation followed, and the suspect shot the victim and fled.

Police don't have anyone in custody, and they haven't determined a motive.

The victim's name, age and hometown haven't been released.
