You might not know it if you lived in Minnesota, but 2013 was among the warmest years on record. It was also a year of extreme weather events, with 39 "billion-dollar weather disasters," according to Jeff Masters at WunderBlog.
And there may be more of the same ahead for 2014. There are indications that an El Nino will develop this year. Some are saying the odds are growing that 2014 will be the warmest year yet.
What factors will determine global climate in 2014? And what's ahead for the Upper Midwest?
