As a major storm bears down on the northeastern United States, Delta Air Lines has cancelled about 300 flights.

The majority of the cancellations involve the airports in the New York City area, Philadelphia, Boston and a dozen small and medium-sized airports in the Northeast.

As of early this afternoon, Delta had cancelled just three flights scheduled to depart from the Twin Cities to the area affected by the storm. Meanwhile, eight flights from the Northeast to the Twin Cities had been cancelled.

Delta will waive fees for customers who want to change their travel plans because of the storm.
