Minnesota Orchestra board elects new chair

The board of the Minnesota Orchestra Friday elected Gordon Sprenger as its new chair.

Sprenger replaces Jon Campbell who led the board during the 16-month musician's lockout. Sprenger is a former President and CEO of Allina Health System.

In a statement released after his election, Sprenger said the board must work to "restore trusting, respectful relationships within the organization among musicians, board and administration."

Sprenger also said the orchestra needs to build support in the community.
